MINISTER’S LICENSE |
The Government of Jamaica requires that a Marriage license is granted for all couples getting married on the island and that you be a resident at least 24hours before your wedding date.
Your wedding planner can apply for a marriage license on your behalf. You will be required to provide notarize copies (make a Xerox copy of the original and have a notary public or a Solicitor sign same to say they are true copies of the original. In cases where they will only sign to signature, then you can write a note to say you swear these are true copies of your original birth certificate etc. sign at the bottom and have the Notary Public or Solicitor stamp and sign) of the following documents:
- Birth Certificates – Picture page of passport can be substituted for the birth certificates
- Divorce Decrees (if divorced)
- Death Certificate (If widowed)
- Any document stating name change (Adoption or deed poll)
Documents that are not in English and to be translate to English by a licensed translator and then notarized. |

| SAND CEREMONY |
| A sand ceremony can be done by the entire family or just the bride and groom. This is done by the pouring of individual containers of sand into one large container, it is virtually impossible to separate who poured which sand into the main container, so should your marriage be, inseparable. |
